The host went over and above to ensure we had plenty of advice about where to eat, how to launder our clothes (which she arranged same day and at cost) and even what medication to seek out to overcome my friend's cough. The room was cosy, clean, quiet and dark during the evening making it easy to get a good night's sleep. The shared bathroom was kept very clean and had good shower temperature and pressure. The rooftop terrace was very comfortable and scenic. The host was happy for us to clean up our gear in a basin on the top floor. She seemed to be constantly improving the place - we saw her redecorate the entrance and put up a new sign during our stay. It was exceptionally good value for money and located centrally without being noisy. It will be my 'go to' accommodation in Huaraz in future.

The best location in Huaraz and for us (traveling as a couple) the greatest time so far in peru 🇵🇪❤️ it’s comfortable and clean as well as a nice place to relax after having extraordinary tour’s! I felt ill due to the altitude and they allowed us to check in to our room early which was great. The breakfast was great. Mario in reception was excellent and resolved issues fast when he was working.

    WOW this hotel blew us away. The new refurbishments were so beautiful, the designs were elegant and unique and the food was phenomenal. The healthy and delicious menu was the exact thing we were looking for before the huayhuash trek (still dreaming of the buddha bowl). What really set this property aside was the staff. We loved meeting and chatting to the team, they were really informative about the huayhuash trek as they had actually been guides in the past- this was so helpful for us and reassuring. This property is the perfect place to stay before or after any hiking/ trekking in Huaraz/ the Cordillera Blanca- I can't reccomend enough!

    there are many possibilities, bus trips organized excursions or a private driver. Ask the hotel staff and they have good connections and can arrange everything for you. Take a day of rest first to get used to the altitude, and take oxygen with you and buy coca leaves to chew on

    There is more to Peru than Machu Picchu.

    There is more to Peru than Machu Picchu. Huaraz is the Kathmandu of Peru, and your door to some of the world's best hiking. Unless you have the DNA of Edmund Hillary in your blood, you may want to take advantage of tours instead of ball-busting hikes. Most hotels have options for you to sign up with. TIP: Even if you travel solo, be a third wheel on a hiking group as there isn't Yogi Bear and Ranger Smith to help you.

    Really interesting city with great options for visiting a...

    Really interesting city with great options for visiting a number of natural and historical sites: 2.5 hours to Chavin de Huantar, 2 hours to glaciers and mountain lakes. The city is teeming with travel operators to take you there - there are also colectivos at your own risk. Lots of restaurants of various cuisines, including both tourist-focused places and more local ones. We even found some good vegetarian options - especially at Paulino's Indian and Casa de Zarela Thai.
