it was so comfortable and welcoming. The owners took such great care of the guests. little touches such as minding our bags and popping them in our room after we came back from a multi day hike. The breakfast was delicious. Cannot recommend the hotel enough.

Everything was pretty good overall. All email communications with Gustavo were great prior to our stay and during. We originally booked on booking.com at a very high price and kept looking and got a much better deal.....so I'd suggest if you're paying approx $250 USD it's a good deal. Food was great, grounds are immaculate (loved the 🦜 & all the 💐's), pool was nice and cold but great when in the sun for abit! We were there 2 nights/ 3 days for the sole purpose of relaxing and that's sure what we did. As mentioned in prior reviews, we found Peruvian families on site using the facilities and their clothing everywhere by the pool and grounds...maybe lockers should be provided for this. Only 6 lounge chairs by the pool, so not really good in that sense when hotel guests who are paying can't even get access. Also tables to put drinks on would be good (I think I also only saw 1 of those and again occupied by non-hotel guests). It would be nice if they had the theatre in English as well maybe at a different time. We couldn't get the TV to work really nor in English even after the maintenance guy came. We had several mosquitoes in the room upon check in, however was quickly rectified with a call to the desk and a lady came to spray and put plug ins. Woukd have been nice if we had clean chairs outside on the balcony for morning coffee (they were covered in bird poop) so we layed towels down on them as they were a tad tough to get clean. Yolanda at breakfast was exceptional. Went above and beyond for Us. We were also celebrating our Anniversary and they added a little nice touch to Our room upon arrival. We found it very clean, quiet, great food (make sure to save room for the Aranwa Experience desert....it's exceptional and have your phone ready for a video!). We had a pisco sour demonstration and it was awesome as we made our own & then got to consume them. They were delicious!!.

This is one of the most incredible parts of our Peru experience. I had no expectations going in, except to relax in nature. We were really happy with our cottage and nightly fires. The food is outstanding and served by very kind, happy staff. The highlight was birdwatching in the mornings and doing the nature walks with the guide. This hotel is located in an incredible nook inside the mountains that makes you feel wrapped in the Andes. It is truly a magical location. Additionally, our spa services were divine.

The location is the best, 5 minutes from the main square and you are in the city centre. You can find a lot restaurants, coffee places and shops and yet the hotel is very quiet and beautiful. They start serving breakfast from 5 a.m. so it helps if you have an early time slot at Machupicchu. Among the various hotels we stayed during our visit to South America, Smaq Machupicchu was the only hotel where a “standard room” had a bathtub.

Cusco is definitely a place to visit when in Peru.

Cusco is definitely a place to visit when in Peru. Not all hotels are equals, so you have to be careful choosing a place depending on your taste for comfort. Cusco offers great opportunities for visits within or around the city. We had a great food experience at the Irish bar with the view on Plaza de Armas. Too bad that there is a strictly enforced prohibition of taking pictures (even without flash) within the cathedral and most of the churches. City Tours in buses are not worth the price.

Pisac is a great place to acclimatize if you are coming into the highlands from Lima or Amazon basin. It is charming small town with lots of historical interest. Archeological Pisak is well worth spending some time on. If you are looking to acclimatize to higher altitudes, Pisak is a better starting point that Cusco because the altitude is about 1500 ft lower and it is closer to Sacred Valley attractions.

Cusco is always a marvelous place to visit for it´s culture and gastronomy. Also people are kind and helpful and there is lots of choice in every aspect. Traffic is a little caotic in the center and drivers are poorly educated. Also street vendors are a little annoying. All in all, cusco will never fail you!

Great small town on the way to Machu Picchu.

Great small town on the way to Machu Picchu. Plenty of hotels for every taste and budget. You could try to buy 1000 tickets to Machu Pichu from local Ministry of Culture. Every day they are selling 1000 extra tickets for next day. Whenever you arriving it's always good to check as Ministry is open until 22.00. Also you need to be in the cue 6.00 or earlier when you want to be sure for tickets.

Ollantaytambo is a gem of a town, my favorite so far of the Sacred Valley towns I have stayed in. The historic part of town feels like it must have felt with the Incas were living there in precolonial days. The streets are kept immaculately clean. Everything you might need is within short walking distance but does not intrude on the authenticity of the town. The views of the Inca ruins on all sides take you back in time. I would gladly go back for a longer stay. The constant flow of large tourist vans down the main street can be a bit annoying as they don't seem to belong, but you can avoid this. One great thing about Kamma Guest House is that it is not in the main stream.
