- From US$185.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,589 reviewsWe booked a cottage and it was so so lovely! Kitchen was super clean and had everything you need to cook a meal (there is also a supermarket nearby), the couches were comfortable, bathroom was also clean and the beds were cosy and comfy! There were electrical heaters in the rooms which were more than sufficient to heat the cottage and it had a nice little terrace. Use of the sauna and showers was also very nice, it was clean and well arranged. We had the breakfast in the main hotel and it was very good, with a great arrangement of food and drinks. After we had to check out we only had a train a few hours later but we were welcome to stay in the lounge area of the hotel, which was very comfortable and had some games! I will definitely come back here!Guest review byMarjonBelgium
- From US$190.74 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 556 reviewsThe check-in was friendly and fast. The room and view was awesome! Such a great view! The breakfast was so luxurious and we talked to a staff member, a young girl, she had been in Sweden a few years. Her hospitality and friendliness was to a 10✨. We will definitely recommend this hotel and we want to go back! I think we came at a day where the roof top bar was closed but then we headed out in Piteå and had a lovely evening. Definately a hotel and town we’re revisiting!Guest review byJanni ErikaDenmark

All experiences we had booked came to pick us up at the hotel so very convenient. Nice size room and nice constant temperature. Great shower, temperature and pressure, perfect when coming back from the outdoor activities. The hotel sits on the hill close to the lake and there are a few hiking trails from the hotel. Staff were amazingly sweet. Strongly recommend!Guest review byRossellaAustralia

Umeå is a hidden gem in northern Sweden, offering a unique blend of vibrant culture, natural beauty, and warm hospitality. My visit to Umeå left me thoroughly impressed with both the city and its people. The city itself is a harmonious mix of modernity and tradition. Umeå is known for its thriving arts scene, and it certainly lives up to its reputation as a European Capital of Culture. Nature lovers will find Umeå a paradise, with its close proximity to lush forests, serene rivers, and the stunning coastline of the Gulf of Bothnia. The city is designed with nature in mind, with plenty of parks and green spaces to explore. The Ume River, which runs through the city, provides picturesque views and is perfect for a leisurely walk or bike ride. But what truly makes Umeå special are its people. The residents of Umeå are some of the friendliest and most welcoming individuals I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Despite the city’s northern location, the warmth of its people is palpable. Whether asking for directions, recommendations, or just striking up a casual conversation, the locals are always eager to help with a genuine smile. There’s a strong sense of community in Umeå, and it’s easy to feel at home even if you’re just visiting.Guest review byAlejandraUnited States - 10

Kiruna is the northernmost city in Sweden, located above the Arctic Circle in the heart of Swedish Lapland. Known for its stunning natural beauty, Kiruna offers a unique combination of wilderness, culture, and science. In winter, the city transforms into a magical wonderland, featuring snow-covered landscapes, the spectacular Northern Lights, and opportunities for dog sledding, snowmobiling, and visiting the renowned Ice Hotel in nearby Jukkasjärvi. In summer, the Midnight Sun shines for weeks, allowing endless outdoor adventures like hiking in the nearby Abisko National Park. Kiruna is also known for its fascinating historyGuest review byAnonymous - 6.0
Skellefteå is a town with an intriguing history.
Skellefteå is a town with an intriguing history. A pretty town on the banks of a large river. The view across the river of the beautiful main church has been obscured by an ugly multi-story parking garage. Who thought up that damaging action? The town is currently in the grips of street optimization. The narrowing of the main East-West street, is questionable and will soon cause traffic congestion. The station is still in place, but no rail traffic goes there apart from goods !! The infrastructure around the railway and station needs to be optimized and take advantage of the existence of a rail link to the rest of Sweden and the outside World.Guest review byNealSweden - 10

I have been here eleven times, which must show that I like it very much. I have been here summer and winter as well. I mostly hike to Lapporten and Trollsjoen. On the other hand, I am not a fan of Kungsleden, which for me is a motorway for pedestrians.Guest review byJean-PaulDenmark - 10

Beautiful village, supermarket and post office close to the Icehotel. The oldest church in Sweden is located there. The torne river/ lake is stunning. The old homestead is a great restaurant located about 1km from the Icehotel. Food is delicious. Local people are very friendly and helpful.Guest review bylinseyIreland - 8.0

One day would be enough to walk around Haparanda's features, along the river, the WWII bunkers, and the 1900 Railway Station bult in the Romantic style. If the neighbouring Finish town, Tornio, was included in a visit and you had a car, two days may be warranted. Haparanda railway station will become the first station on the Swedish side of a direct rail passenger service between Findland and Sweden expected to start in late 2025.Guest review byWilliamAustralia - 6.0

Kiruna is a beautiful place with extraordinary winterscapes during the day and even more so on a moonlight night.. The cherry in the top was the extraordinary experience of being blessed by aurora corona and aurora borealis sighting every night we were there .. More over the museum explaining sami culture and giving us sn opportunity to be amongst reindeer was so soulful.. the extraordinary sculptures of ice and snow at the ice hotel , their classic warming drink in ice glasses was something else .. needless to say , it is a ‘must experience ‘ place.Guest review byEbrahim ShakilSweden - 6.0

I stayed 5 days, mid September, for a conference and had some free time. When it wasn't raining, I enjoyed beautiful walks along the river (4 hour circuit), and I ran to the coast (12 km away), and through forestry roads. Easy returns by public transport as the busses are frequent and accept credit card. I did not need Swedish money at all during my stay. The town museum is a must see, even if small, and you should visit the historical part of town, which is nearby. I confess to only having eaten asian food while in town. I did not identify a restaurant with Swedish food, which I would have liked to try.Guest review byadmangaFrance - 10
