The breakfast was delicious, actually more than we could eat, she insisted to make some sandwiches with the leftovers and take them with us on the trails. My family & I rented 2 rooms at this hotel. We had unexpected snow during our stay so spent more time indoors/at the property than we originally planned and we found it to be a comfortable & cozy place to hang out. The onsite restaurant was delicious, all meals, including breakfast were fresh and abundant. Some of the best traditional Slovenian food we had our entire trip was at this property. The staff was friendly & professional and the valley really is one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia.

Štiftar house is the perfect place to stay to discover the area. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the view from the window was stunning, breakfast was also great and an added bonus was that we were able to bring our dog along. There is easy parking right next to the house. I have to call out Katja’s flexibility and hospitality, she is an amazing host.
It looked like a great place for families too.
I would definitely stay here again.

It was wonderful. 10/10 is not enough. The host is very kind and helpful. Building is quite new and all furniture and bathroom was made with excellent taste. It is situated in the middle of the Robanov Kot valley surrounded by mountains. Let's say that no phone service and WiFi is a plus. Shops are available in villages a few minutes by car. It is only 15-20 minutes to Logarska Valley (depends on how far you want to go into the Valley)

It was a great stay!
We are extremely satisfied with our choice: an incredible area, very picturesque views, wonderful hosts, it was comfortable and pleasant to stay there. The territory is secluded - you are left alone with nature)
We also enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in the evening.
Be sure to order local dairy products through the owners - they are extremely tasty. Highly recommend this chalet.

Nicely furnished, very rural charme yet comfortable and practical - ideal for getting away from offices and TV's and computers and mobile phones. The host was kind, the house is located in a quiet area, it has own parking spots, and there is a lot to explore nearby on foot. Also a shop and a few cafes and a restaurant is only a few minutes of walk away.

The location and its view is spectacular, easily accessible by car. The hosts are so welcoming, kind and helpful. The room was very spacious, clean, and very well equipped with towels, showergel/shampoo. The breakfast was very authentic with cold cuts, cheese, yogurt but you can ask for eggs as well. We definetely will come back!

Its location is ideal:: close to a settlement and to major sights, but out in the nature. The owners are very nice and helpful. The food is delicious and substential, with a lot of local and homemade products.

Great walks up the three valleys that are close bye. We had coffee in the information centre in Solcava - staff were excellent. Did the scenic road looking down over the valleys - well worth the drive up and down.

The area is beautiful and hiking and biking is great. The grocery stores are severly lacking on fresh proteins. We cook alot and didn't like having to purchase plastic coated packaged meats. A decent butcher and pharmacy were at least 30 minutes away.

An excellent location for outdoor activities, especially hiking and cycling. The nature here is really beautiful and we visited this region several times. It also has several really nice restaurants with local specialties and organic food. This time we cycled to Pavličevo sedlo and along the panoramic road and went on a hike towards Matkov škaf. Last time we hiked to ancient cave Potočka zijalka and Ostrica mountain. We ate at the Majerhold mountain lodge below Pavličev sedlo, at the Žibovt farm by the panoramic road, and at the Ojstrica restaurant in the Logarska dolina. Everyone is very friendly. A bike or electric bike that can be rented is the most convenient means of transportation here.

The best appartment we’ve stayed in Slovenia. We’ve stayed in 4. Very spacious, impeccable cleanliness, equipment, cutlery, furniture. Absolutely enjoyable experience. The host is super nice. Totally recommendable.

Solcava was a beautiful village, very close to Logar Valley. The views are spectacular! The air is so fresh and crisp. It is very soothing for the soul. We hiked to Slap Rinka and drove the Panoramic Road. We would have liked to have more time for hiking and exploring. The only downside would be lack of restaurants. We were there in May, so I'm not sure if there may be more options in high season but we had a difficult time finding a place for dinner. The place we ended up was in Luce, Gostlina PR Lampi. The food was very good traditional Slovenian food and excellent wine. Our waiter had a wonderful personality and was a joy to visit with.
