A pleasant place mainly thanks to the people and services in the area. It is more about getting to know and meeting people. There are no nice beaches here, the coast is just a pile of concrete. Entering the sea without shoes in the water is quite unpleasant.Guest review byPacho69Czech Republic - 8.0

It was a lovely city, but you must be able to walk steep hills to get there or take bus. A lot of walking and no parking, as with most cities. The beach is rocky, so you would want water shoes. It's totally on the peninsula. Bus into town is 1 Euro from the cemetery downhill from the property we stayed at, but limited schedule.Guest review byNosie - 10.0

A lovely small town at the sea where everything is reachable by foot so you can enjoy endless walks. Extremely beautiful sunsets at the marina area, lovely Venetian architecture, tasty cuisine. Very underestimated because of Piran's popularity but very cozy and comfortable for a leisure vacation. Lovely green beach Slovene Riviera and nearby Zusterna. I would recommend Koper to everyone as a base for their Slovenian seaside sightseeing as Izola and Piran are just 20-40 minutes drive away.Guest review byDD23Bulgaria - 10.0

A very nice town, cheaper than Portoroz, nicer and offering a lot more in terms of visiting, restaurants, walking, history, arhitecture, compared to Portoroz, which is simply a sea side resort (busy, artificial, etc).Guest review byDanRomania - 10.0

Nice, serene small town located in a nature park, with several walking trails and interesting sights. Not too many beaches, but there are a couple of acceptably good ones. No nightlife; limited dining and shopping options. Excellent for quiet relaxation.Guest review byOnurHungary - 10.0

Cool, intimate and quiet place, not as crowded as Piran or Isola. For those who prefer less crowded places, a little more off the beaten track. The port in Koper is no problem when it comes to enjoying the charms of the Adriatic in Ankaran.Guest review byjacs_1979Poland - 10.0

Divača is a quiet town/village on the railwy line between Ljubljana and Koper. It is very close to both Lipica and to skočjanske Jame. These caves are my favourites in Slovenia, although not to be visited if you have a problem walking.. The park surrounding the caves is very beautiful too. Divača itself is quiet, but has a Cinema museum, which is popular with those interested in early silent films. There area few trains three each day, and also a bus service during the week. Not at the weekend, however, as I found to my cost on another occasion when I drove a friend's car home for her - and then found there were no buses on Saturdays by which to travel back to the coast!, and the next train would have kept me late for my meeting. Luckily, there were others around to heading the same way. While Skočjam and Lipica are open all year, there are also smaller caves in the area which are open only in the tourist season. To drive there from the coast takes about 30 minutes, and about the same driving time will take you to Postojna and the more famous caves there, or to Predjamskigrad, an amazing Castle , most of which is inside the mountain, hence its name - the castle in front of the cave.Guest review byAnnSlovenia - 10.0

The house with the two apartments is simply great - there is absolutely everything you need, its spaceous, super clean, very well equipped, the AC works very well as well as wifi. The location is great to get to any touristic spots, or the sea coast. Its very quiet. The instructions provided by the landlady were timely and very clear.Guest review byJanaCzech Republic - 8.0
Sečovlje, a serene coastal town in Slovenia, offers a...
Sečovlje, a serene coastal town in Slovenia, offers a peaceful escape on the Adriatic Sea's southern coast. Its main attractions include the Sečovlje Saltpans Nature Park, a vast expanse of salt pans where you can spot various bird species. The town's rich cultural heritage is showcased at the Museum of Salt-Making, providing insights into its historical significance. Sečovlje's tranquil ambiance and charming old town streets make it an ideal destination for relaxation. Enjoy fresh seafood at local restaurants, featuring Istrian truffle pasta and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Accessibility is best by car, as public transportation options are limited, with Koper, the nearest major city, approximately 20 kilometers away. In summary, Sečovlje is a hidden coastal gem that offers natural beauty, cultural heritage, and a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking a serene getaway.Guest review byZohoUnited Kingdom
