SwedenVery nice place, love the surroundings. Very hospitable and service staff. The owner was my savior who helped me find some superheroes to climb palm trees. I had stuck my drone in a 10-15m high palm tree, 15min south on the island. They went all the way to climb up and take it down. Of course they got a big reward as a thank you🙏🏻❤️ Wanted to stay longer but it was already fullbooked.

The concept of the resort aiming for self sustainability is awesome. (gardening, chicken/ducks, saving water, not using plastic bottles etc.) Also the western kitchen at bamboo restaurant is amazing. Fresh vegetables from the garden that have actual taste. Burgers have been awesome too, easily one of the best we have ever had.
The bungalow is decorated as lovely as you would sleep at someone's house and not in a hotel. We felt at home during our stay!!!

The bungalows are spacious, clean, comfortable, great AC, and the bathrooms are very unique. Breakfast each day was great, a selection from western or Thai dishes. There are scooters available for hire at 250baht each day. It's easy to get to all the beaches. If you're after an intimate, boutique, locally run, well priced, clean and comfortable stay, look no further.

The staff's attentiveness was remarkable. Within minutes, they knew our names and room number, anticipating our needs without being intrusive. It was a delightful touch that made us feel like cherished guests. They even offered a late check-out before we could ask, understanding our desire to savor every moment.
The on-site restaurant, with its breathtaking views, became our culinary haven. Each dish was a celebration of fresh, local ingredients, from the succulent seafood to the vibrant Thai specialties. The breakfast menu, a delightful departure from the usual buffet, ensured no food was wasted and catered to our individual preferences.
Shantaa offered a wealth of activities, from kayaking and paddleboarding to snorkeling right off the resort's sandy beach. The calm, clear waters of the canal were perfect for beginners, and we found ourselves gliding effortlessly on paddleboards, surrounded by stunning scenery.
The modern bungalows provided a comfortable and stylish retreat, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, creating an ambiance of relaxed elegance.
Our stay at Shantaa was more than just a vacation; it was an escape into a world of serenity and romance. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and with a longing to return to this island paradise.

Wow, what a great and restful vacation we had here! We spent 11 nights at the resort and we acctually did not want to leave, even for a scooter drive since it was so peaceful and we really needed the stress-out.
We stayed in a room with our own pool and it was really lovely.
Despite that, we also spent a lot of time by the big pool, and off-course, the beach.
The staff is lovely! so kind and always smiling.
Sim, is such a wonderful guy and nothing is to much of a problem for him. He even helped us book massage 3 times, and since there is no massage places close by, he asked them to come to the hotel and so they came and gave us massage in our own bungalo!
The beach is lovely and aprx 1000 m long if you like to stroll along it. There is a few other resorts along the beach so you can variate the eating and drinking if you like.
However, we really loved and prefered the food and drinks at the hotel, firstly because it was very tastful but secondly because of the staff and the cleaniness.
We were on a boat-trip (excursion) one day, which the staff in the reception helped us book. Nothing much about that, some snorkeling, watching the sunset and eating barbeque. But well worth a try if you want to see some other views for a day.
This was definatly one of my best vaccations I have had and I travel alot (2-3 times a year at least). We wish all the best to Sim and his staff and would like to thank all of them for making our stay here so magical! /with love Jenny and Thor

Brilliant. We were wowed from the moment we arrived. Staff couldn't do more if they wanted. Friendly, welcoming and on top of everything. From reception to waiters and cleaners.
Rooms were plenty big enough, bathroom too.
Outside beach area wonderful. Free use of kayaks which was great to explore. You can walk a fair way around the shore line to explore also. Nice and quiet and plenty of space for everyone.
Koh Kood is a bit of a mission to get to but honestly worth it. If coming from Bangkok you can get bus (7hours I think) and then the ferry (1hour) you can also get a flight to Trat and then transport to pier and ferry. We flew back which was much less tiring. Reception can arrange transport if you wish it.

We truly enjoyed our days at the resort. Many thanks to the wonderful and attentive staff. We had a bungalow with a sea view, and the photos and description matched perfectly — in fact, it even exceeded our expectations.
The breakfast was absolutely sufficient; for non-vegetarians it was very, very good. There weren’t many vegetarian options, but I’m already used to that from other hotels. 😉
In the end, I have to say that I really can’t understand the negative reviews, and I find them quite unfortunate, as I was close to rebooking the hotel because of them. Fortunately, we didn’t — the hotel is truly beautiful, and the beach is a dream! The price-performance ratio was absolutely right as well.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and had a wonderful experience. Before our stay, I emailed the hotel to ensure they had vegan food. Upon arrival, we were pleased to know that they had purchased vegan products and veganised a few items on their menu for us. They have amazing pad Thai, curries, and fried rice.
The hotel itself is lovely and has a beautiful beach and pool. The staff are very friendly.

Beautiful resort in the most beautiful beach. The island itself is quite and reserved so I loved it. Very nice, caring and attentive staff without being intrusive. Confortable, king beds in a beautifully designed room. Amazing bathroom design and shower with natural light from above. Nice private outdoor area with pool and sun deck. We loved our stay, we’ll be back.

What I've seen was fantastic. In so many ways, there are a lot of fun hideaways...that you can't mention them all. Feel free to get lost often. I know I did and loved it. After dark on a cycle...not as much. But day time...just go for it! Don't forget to stop by some of the road side restaurants for your favorite drink.

Koh Kood is a genuine hidden gem.
Koh Kood is a genuine hidden gem. The tropical beaches have crystal clear water and there are some great snorkeling spots if you look hard enough. Make sure you get down to The Fisherman Hut and mention Whimsical Tricycle to the owner, Tom. He will know what you mean. Enjoy! But keep it secret. Keep it safe.
