Hotel is very wide (lobby to guestrooms, free shuttle available) and with variety of facillities (some cost extra charge), personally times would be a little bit tight for only one night stay even if before check-in & after check-out facilities are still available for use. Rooms are all with balcony (garden & river view), very wide, with everything more than enough. Poolside is fantastic in both day & night time, lifeguards are there who are all polite and friendly. Still, there are pools with warm water (around 40 degrees), not any problems in winter season. Canal's cruising boat takes guests to see through the hotel (go around), boatmans (some are female) would like to give guests a guide patiently through the whole cruise. And also, around 22:00, they run the final boat (not allowed on board) with music speaker, saying good night to everybody. Restaurant is small a bit considering they have such huge amount of guestrooms, it results in that dinner time being seperated into two parts...might be a little bit shameful as they offered many kinds of cuisines, hopefully longer time for dinner would be suggested. But even if we did it over time, staff in the restaurant were all nice and did not push us in a hurry at all. Breakfast time until 12:00 which is quite an excellent service as guests are able to spend the leisure time until around 11:00 (final check-out time), then go for breakfast after check-out. We planned to do this originally but could hardly hire a shuttle to lobby for doing check-out first (around 11:00 is a rush hour for check-out, cars are not enough at all) . However they let us to keep our luggages and room key, go enjoy our late morning time first, back at around 12:15, then they offered a shuttle, gave us a ride to lobby for check-out. Check in extremely rapid and concise. Staff very diligent and able to communicate in English even if difficult at times, there is an overall willingness. Room was amazing large, clean…. like an operating theatre with coffee making facilities, a minibar and excellent WiFi connectivity. Hotel can organise excursions like whale watching. Don’t forget to use the spinning room equipped with tea and coffee machines and even ice making facilities. On the second floor one can find a laundry room and lessive is free of charge. Breakfast starts early at 6am which is most welcoming, if like me, an early riser. A wide choice is available including real coffee and options for vegetarians, like me. Menu changes daily. I found that breakfast and dinner buffet were included, along with coffee, tea, ice-cream, and snacks all day long, as well as free laundry facilities and bicycles. I had seen free laundry and snacks mentioned in other reviews and, frankly, I didn't really believe it! The laundry facilities were excellent and included detergent as well. The breakfast and dinner buffet options were substantial. The room was also surprisingly nice with an excellent shower and toilet with bidet functions. It's a tiny town with fewer restaurants to choose from...
It's a tiny town with fewer restaurants to choose from comparing to HuaLiang which is 18KM south of XinCheng. But, this town is also 18 KM closer to Taroko National Park.
