Actually the beach is not always a good option for swimming (too hot during most of the day, and sometimes the waves are too strong), so the kid's pool becomes a lifesaver for parents. Staff are very polite and helpful above and beyond. The rooms are clean and large. Facilities are great. Lovely beach town , not crowded when we were there ( low season , not a holiday weekend- I hear the crowds can be big during holidays ) . Easy to reach by local bus from neighboring Kenting , Not a lot of eating choices other than 7-11 for a cute beach town. Fun area to explore need to rent a scooter or car to see more the national park is beautiful, and a lot of nice beaches.Only downside in Kenting is night market opens around 6:00 pm and almost nothing going on during the day, so don’t expect lunch or an afternoon cocktail. Night market is loud with boom boxes at a lot of drink stands competing for business, but food is good and friendly people. Nanwan is a clean, white sand beach. The recreation area has free restroom facilities and paid showers, a few shops selling beach gear, a few surf shops, and several restaurants + bars.
