The lobby has been improved with tables to work or to study, vending machines, and a coin laundry. The staff is very nice and friendly, and the new staff speak very good English. The place itself is a very affordable no-frills hotel: the room is spacious enough, quiet, and with a good air-conditioning, the bed is comfortable enough, and the shower is hot and clean. If you aim to spend little time in your hotel room, that's enough. If you want to enjoy your stay, you may mind the lack of natural light or a cupboard. The wifi is fine. The city is excellent and offers a great deal of places to visit, like Hayashi Store for some amazing souvenirs, Confucius Temple to appreciate the ancient learning and culture, a lot of Museums to showcase the art and history of the city, and the fantastic night markets for local cuisine of Tainan. I would not recommend visiting on a Monday as most of the shops, cafes and bars were shut during the day time and also in the evening it was quite difficult to find somewhere to eat.
