Spotless clean,no strange odours whatsoever, comfy mattress and pillows,solid air conditioning..Cute little foyer with free snacks in the morning. The reception staff was helpful and with good English. Location is amazing!Walking distance to all attractions in the West District, convenience store a min away, Snail Alley next door.     I have been staying at Tie Dao many times because it's near to the train station and to the University, and because the price is extremely competitive, and I've noticed great improvements recently. The lobby has been improved with tables to work or to study, vending machines, and a coin laundry. The staff is very nice and friendly, and the new staff speak very good English. The place itself is a very affordable no-frills hotel: the room is spacious enough, quiet, and with a good air-conditioning, the bed is comfortable enough, and the shower is hot and clean. If you aim to spend little time in your hotel room, that's enough. If you want to enjoy your stay, you may mind the lack of natural light or a cupboard. The wifi is fine. There are several cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby.

    The location is really handy, it's right next to the shopping mall, with a door directly there. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are very comfortable with a choice of pillows, if you don't like your pillow, you can just switch to another one.

    The city is excellent and offers a great deal of places to visit, like Hayashi Store for some amazing souvenirs, Confucius Temple to appreciate the ancient learning and culture, a lot of Museums to showcase the art and history of the city, and the fantastic night markets for local cuisine of Tainan. You can access most of these places just with a single YouBike.

    Go and see the old city at Anping - lots of interesting history, including Fort Zeelandia. Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan so it is worth exploring. It would have been fun to hire a bicycle but we only had an evening. Next time!

    I would not recommend visiting on a Monday as most of the shops, cafes and bars were shut during the day time and also in the evening it was quite difficult to find somewhere to eat. However it is an interesting city and if you can do a sunset cruise round the canals.
