Kyiv will surprise Western tourists.
Kyiv will surprise Western tourists. The train from the border was just like any other European Intercity Express, only much cheaper. Kyiv's sights are worth seeing, the statue with the sword, the Dnieper River, and the churches with their spectacular golden domes. Ukraine is at war, there are airraid sirens some nights, but the Ukrainian people are special, and a trip here will be very rewarding. Kyiv is a beautiful European capital city with charm and amazing history. There are a large number of volunteer opportunities for foreign visitors during the full-scale war. I have been to Kyiv twice during the past 12 months and both times felt very safe while taking common-sense precautions. There are shelters that should be used during times of attack. But with reasonable accomodations, this city can be safely visited and good work can be done to aid the Ukrainian people.Guest review byRexAdamUnited States
