I have travelled a lot and stayed at some incredible hotels. This is easily the best hotel I’ve stayed in in South America. Top 3 globally. The decor is just incredible, whoever the designer is did exceptional work here, the smallest details have been paid attention too. The photos tell part of the story. The staff are absolutely perfectly trained and are attentive but not in your space. Ordering room service or making a request was as simple as sending a WhatsApp message. Santiago, Alejandro and Sebastian really offered the perfect level of service that you’d hope for at a hotel but almost never receive. The food is also excellent, the restaurant staff just as good. Cannot recommend this hotel enough, I was left speechless at how well run, maintained and operated this place is. Oh and lastly, the mini-bar snacks are all healthy options, bar Coca Cola you will find premium health snacks and chocolates. 10/10.

It is a great place. very safe and most secured area in Montevideo. the owner an englishman Mr. Mark and his beautiful wife Carolina very friendly and helpful . you feel like home when you are there. spcaious rooms.closer to the beach. This lovely hotel is literally near everything! It's pretty close to one of the main avenues in Montevideo (18 de Julio), a very short walk from the historic Facal Cafe and some other wonderful places like Plaza Independencia and Ciudad Vieja. The rooms are quite spacious, and the kitchen was incredibly convenient, with everything we needed for a quick coffee or even a nice homemade dinner. The internet is super fast, and we were able to work without any interruptions. Even though its so close to a main avenue and in the heart of the city, the room had great noise isolation, and we had great, quiet nights of sleep in there. The staff deserve a special thank you and lots of praise. Juan, Leandro and Paulo were absolutely amazing during our whole stay. (And huge, huge shout out to Paulo for helping us so much with everything, from bakery recommendations to information for longer stays, always with a smile on his face!) We are already planning our next trip for November and we are certainly staying there again❤️

This hotel is conveniently located just a block from the seafront. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with quiet air conditioning and a fridge. The bathroom is a good size, with excellent hot water and strong water pressure. The 24/7 reception is staffed by friendly and helpful team members, day and night. Breakfast is enjoyable, though it could use more fresh fruit options. The gym is clean and well-maintained, but it would benefit from having a decent set of dumbbells. Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and grocery stores. Overall, I had a great stay and would happily return!

The place is classic, and the service is excellent. The breakfast is complete. It is located 2 blocks from the Tres Cruces Bus station, where you can find taxis to the airport, shopping, and food outlets. If you are backpacking, you have the possibility of continuing your trip to Brazil or Argentina using long-distance buses. It serves as an excellent resting point and is well-located. The city of Montevideo is always incredible.

Great modern city by the sea with also lovely old buildings. I knew nothing about Montevideo before coming here and ended up staying 6 nights. Visit the Memorial Andes 1972 museum. It's amazing and very moving!

The city is full of life.

The city is full of life. People are friendly, and shopping is great. We especially loved the food. We were surrounded by great restaurants. El Fogon, Bar Facal and La Pasiva in 18 De Julio are especially great. We enjoyed every minute of it.

Montevideo is the capital of a small country whose economy...

Montevideo is the capital of a small country whose economy is doing quite well. I was surprised how unattractive the city, as a whole, was. Seems like some paint might be in order, and many blocks exhibited rank neglect. On the way out of town, driving past mile after mile of beach-side high rises, I realized maybe all the money has moved here, away from the downtown area that I had been staying and walking around in. I would highly recommend two wonderful free museums -- the Gaucho and Coin museum in the gob smackingly gorgeous and huge main hall of a bank, and the Design and Decorative arts museum in the Taranco Palacio -- Julian Fellowes eat your heart out. In general I very much enjoyed walking around the Ciudad Viejo, with its beautiful plazas and faded glory residences.
