It is located in a side street of the Old Quarter, so I guess it was much quieter than Hotels would have been along the main roads, but non the less within a few meters, you were in the bustling life of the city and the weekend night life at the Hoàn Kiếm Lake right around the corner. There has been some occasinal dog barking or random street noise at night, nothing to avoid I guess and much less than at home, it did not disturb our sleep at all. We got an upgrade to the Imperial suite, but non the less - we had a look to decide if we would stick to our booked suite which had a bath tub and facing away from the street, or the Imperial suite, which is more spacious but without tub and facing the road and opted for the last one just simply for a bit more space, although the other one had enough space, too. The rooms were both clean, well designed and the hotel was very well maintained if not recently renovated. The bed was very comfortable and after our long days out we enjoyed to come back and rest in it or on the couch and take a refreshing hot shower. The employees were very attentive and supplied us with everything we needed, house keeping was superb. On arrival we got an introduction and tips for the city. If you are interested in tours and you have not planned anything ahead you can book some with them or they are generally helpful with suggestions, but we have not used this option as we had made plans beforehand already. They also offer spa treatments, but as we did not use any spa options in or outside the hotel we can not say anything valuable about it either. We got a late check out on our last day. We were told upon arrival that credit card payment comes with a 3% surcharge cause of banking fees, so this did not surprise us anymore during check out, but I could not find this information on booking.com, it is not alot, but you might want to be aware of that.Guest review byPascalGermany

Hanoi was good however you only needed a few days there.
Hanoi was good however you only needed a few days there. Motor Bikes and Scooters took Ove all footpaths so you have to walk on the road all the time. Shopping was all you could ask for no matter what you wanted. Food if you ate where there were hundreds of locals you alway got variety Vietmese food and fantastic prices. We took a guided tour covering many places, however when we got on the bus the guide said oh no we are not going to all those places. We showed them the itinerary we booked and paid for but to no avail.Wwe walked off the tour 23 way through disgusted. This area is a long way from the city centre but it was close to the language centre, students and teacher that I needed to visit. It was perfect for my stay, but a tourist wishing to explore Hanoi may want to stay closer to the city centre. Such a beautiful place to visit if you're staying in Hanoi! It’s the perfect slice of nature, just 1.5hours away from from the city. There's a stunning national park where you can have long hikes and many breathtaking, sacred temples—an experience truly worth having. The fresh air, peaceful atmosphere, and warm, welcoming people make it even more special. I didn't stay at this hotel to tour the local town, but only for convenience near the Hanoi international airport, because I had an early morning flight and was concerned about unpredictability of traffic from farther away. I did extensive search to find a place close to airport but inexpensive price and still good quality. The Family Transit Hotel in Thach Loi satisfied everything I was looking for, and was so much more in quality and customer service by the staff there. Hanoi is a lively and charming city with so much history and culture to explore. The Old Quarter is beautiful with its small streets, cafés, and local shops, and the street food is amazing if you know where to go. That said, traffic can be busy and a bit noisy, and some touristy areas charge way more for common dishes like pho or banh mi. If you’re traveling with friends and want reasonably priced food, it’s best to ask locals — or even better, the hotel reception — they’ll point you to good spots nearby. Don’t miss trying some of the local cafés; sitting in one of them and enjoying a coffee is a true Hanoi experience. Walking is fun in the Old Quarter, but be careful crossing streets, and consider using a Grab bike or taxi for longer distances. This is one of the best homestays I have had in Vietnam.
This is one of the best homestays I have had in Vietnam. It was so restful and quiet. I had ridden my motorcycle for 250 km's in pouring rain that day, when I arrived they offered to take my rain soaked clothes and dry them so I could be warm when leaving the next morning, then fed me so I could go rest the evening away. Hanoi is a lively city with busy streets, but not as crazy as Saigon. The Old Quarter is beautiful, but my advice is to avoid touristy spots serving common dishes like pho or banh mi — they can be ridiculously expensive. Traffic can be hectic, so it's best to ask the hotel reception for tips; they’ll help you get around. If you have friends living here, they can take you to great local spots. Or just chat with the hotel reception — they’ll definitely help you.
