United KingdomMountain View Guesthouse might be the best guesthouse I’ve stayed in. It’s located very close to the N7, petrol stations, supermarket, restaurants, and Costa coffee shop.
A lovely warm welcome from Roché. He has thought of everything. A beautiful, immaculately clean room, full kitchen facilities with comprehensive dishes and utensils, fridge, microwave, air fryer, coffee pod machine, 2 x multi-head phone chargers.
Also a working TV (doesn't always happen in my experience), and secure parking. No breakfast provided but that was expected, and it’s fine for me as I had my own food. And places to eat close by.

The view from the cottage is very beautiful and our hostess/owner at the reception is a very charming person. This is really a place to relax, to feel comfortable and safe. On the patio there were some comfortable easy chairs and also a table and chairs to eat outside. We did not use the hot tub. It was hot outside already ... The only thing you should be aware of is the fact that you had better buy food and drinks before arriving at the cottage. The healing waters of the spring. The rock pools are so great, relaxing ... your body and spirit are renewed after relaxing in the pool or rock pools. The absolute quietness are wonderful. Each property or house is designed so that you feel you are the only people around. Love the privacy and connecting with nature. We only stayed one night at Maskam Guest farm, but I will definitely return. We did not see much of the area as the trip was to see family only. The Klawer hotel is something to visit.
The Klawer hotel is something to visit. We had a very interesting meal there. I will never return as everything from the Maintenace round the pool, inside the chalet and outside was not done. Area in the reception was disgusting and open wires under the jacuzzi and outside the chalet after what seems to be a geyser that was replaced. The town is quaint and a nice safe walk around it in the evening was a pleasant surprise. The Old Jail is a must see together with the nurseries. Lodge was very accommodating and people seem friendly and helpful. The Shell garage attendants were funny and made filling up an experience. Small town but central for travellers. Wine tasting nearby. Clanwilliam, Biedouw Valley and flower route. Niewhwoudtville and nature reserves. Klawer Hotel is a older hotel, great for a stop over. Absolutely stunning views. Definitely recommend high clearance vehicle. Lots of gravel roads, some are not great. When it rains, the roads are dangerous. Lots of driving through very deep puddles and some bridges washed away. But A+ for adventure.Guest review byAnonymous
