- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 121 reviews20 minutes from Melanane gate, ideal for self drive but they also offer guided safaris The rooms are just from another world, extremely clean and spacious, offering privacy in quite an open establishment. The rooms are well designed with a South African taste, private terrace and if you book the right room, a cold plunge The garden and view over the Crocodile river are just something else. You see tracking elephants and hippos, and hear male Lions just roaring during sundown Hospitality was top notch; Dennis, Leanne and the other lady (sorry, forgot your name) do everything to make your stay comfy. Great dinner, freshly made and served by cooks. The dinner announcement drums are a very nice touch. Breakfast packs available if you are going on a morning safari. Would 100% recommend.Guest review byRobin de VriesNetherlands
- From US$166.88 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 803 reviewsRiver House Lodge is a really beautiful hotel in the banks of the river. Amazing deck that you can relax and watch all the animals that come and go. You can even skip a safari game and stay there to relax. You will see many many animals The room we had is a very big double room with a small balcony that has river view. Cause we were leaving very early in the morning i dont know how is the normal breakfast (we were taking a breakfast box that was ok) and a tastful dinner Highly recommendedGuest review byΓιάννηςGreece
- From US$1,668.82 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 16 reviewsIt was the best place I have ever been to. I did not expect such service. All the staff was very friendly. All the staff were like best friends who were constantly worried about us. There were more staff than guests in the lodge. The food was very tasty. The Internet worked reliably and we watched youtube. The Lodge area is very cozy and large. We did not think about anything and enjoyed being in this place. The safari was also great.Guest review byAlekseiRussia
- From US$183 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 191 reviewsThe location was easy to reach in Marloth Park. I liked the room, with beautiful decoration, comfortable, nice bed, a small fridge, electric kettle for coffee and tea. The bathroom was also nice, painted in soft pastel colours and a shower with a good water pressure. Food was amazing and the personnel all the time ready to help.Guest review byMariaArgentina

It was our first getaway at a provate lodge and we loved every minute of it. From the setting, special attention to detail, the staff going above and beyond and the bonus of seeing the big 5 and some very rare animals.Guest review byJoshAustralia

The trip was with wonderful the place looked exactly as the pictures, the place is clean and fully equipped in terms of cutlery and that made everything about the stay awesome. The animals coming to visit anytime was also a 100%.Guest review byNoniSouth Africa - 6.0
A nice place to be. Not enough for a short stay.
A nice place to be. Not enough for a short stay. There is so much to do and see if you visit a place a few days. The Kruger Park is within reach. The eateries are relatively a few km away. Rural but very nice experience for an urban person.Guest review byAbbeySouth Africa - 8.0

I think if you are a couple don't choose single beds maybe double bed is better. The place is full of mosquitoes be prepared and buy something that can protect you that's what we did.the lodge is located in the township not good for other people .no microwave no kettle to make teaGuest review byMrs ManziniSouth Africa - 10.0
Marloth is an amazing place to go visit.
Marloth is an amazing place to go visit. Everything you need is within the park. The local butchery is a must stop for steaks, dry wors and biltong. The water park and eatery were a great treat for the kids and our group. The people were extremely friendly and the local wildlife that came to visit our house and the kids could feed them with the food on sale at the gate or any of the other shops in the park. We hope that the area will get rain soon as all is very dry after nearly two years of drought. The upside is you get to spot the animals easier.Guest review byEugeneSouth Africa - 10.0

We loved being able to walk and experience the wildlife up close. We had an amazing meal at a restaurant overlooking the Crocodile River. This is a wonderful experience for anyone who loves experiencing wildlife up close and personal.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0

The room we were initially offered was not fit for habitation. Our next room on first impression seemed better but we found it had mouldy shower recess, no hot water, broken blinds and window coverings, no phone , a non functioning power point so no hair dryer and chipped outdoor furniture.. We did not get what we paid for and when bought to management’s attention all we got were excuses. A very disappointing stay and definitely not worth the money.Guest review byOn the moveAustralia
