Large well appointed room and spacious luxurious bathroom. Mr. Laksiri, as the manager was always present to ensure high quality along with young and capable front desk staff including Ashen. Mr. Pradeep made sure all housekeeping needs were satisfied. The pool man (forgot his name) became a friend. And, Chef Lalith was the star for us with his Michelin-caliber clean kitchen, prompt staff, and food that will make us come back for sure. Having stayed in numerous places around the world, this one really touched our hearts and easily became a home for 4 days. Thanks to all.

This family-run place, nestled in the heart of nature, is a true haven of peace. The only sounds you’ll hear might be the songs of the birds. The hotel is just perfect ; the king-size bed is very comfortable, and the shower is worthy of a place that charges three times the price. Breakfast, included in the rate, is excellent: fresh local seasonal fruits, savory bites, and perfectly cooked eggs. Don’t hesitate to come meet this lovely family, where each member plays a specific role and does so with great care and love. Car taxi service, tuk-tuk rides, and a local guide are also available.

The villa was awesome, it was cleaned every day including the beautiful swimming pool. There are five bedrooms all with aircon, fans, mozzie nets and comfortable beds. Two rooms have ensuites and there are a further two bathrooms all of which are very clean. The staff were lovely, very kind and they couldn't do enough for you, especially Sanjeewa who drove the Tuk Tuk, he went above and beyond to provide everything we needed and also took us anywhere we wanted to go locally. The owner was also extremely helpful in sorting out drivers for any trips we went on and also taking one member of our party to the doctors when she was unwell. Breakfast was included and was huge, so much food. There is a kitchen if you want to make your own food but there is also a menu you can order from for evening meals which is very reasonably priced. The garden is gorgeous and get lots of local wildlife in it, including chipmonks and the odd monkey. All in all the whole experience was brilliant and I highly recommend Sandul villa - we stayed for two weeks,

Great hotel, staff, location and service. Special thanks to our villa host Mr. Krish - he made our stay memorable and went above and beyond to make sure we were well catered to. Also special mention to Mr. Praveen (IT Engineer) for his assistance and for the great internet speed. Highly recommend for anyone in visiting the coast when in Sri Lanka.

Built on 9 acres of gardens, AVANI Kalutara Resort (formerly Kani Lanka Resort and Spa) is located by the Kalu Ganga River. It offers an outdoor pool, a luxurious spa and free Wi-Fi. ⸻ Ayubowan! Another one of our reviews is for the Avani Kalutara Resort. We have visited many places and continents, staying in both five-star and four-star hotels. For the first time in my life, I can honestly say one thing: in this hotel, several times our wishes were fulfilled before we even managed to say them out loud. We have never experienced anything like this anywhere else. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. You can truly feel that they perceive you and try to anticipate what you might need… Incredible!! We must also express our sincere thanks to Mr. Rishman Doole, who helped us a lot when my partner got sunburned. He immediately arranged for healing products to be delivered to our room. Thank you very much! 😊 We also have to mention the cooking classes. A wonderful experience, during which—under the guidance of Mr. Nipuna Laksan—we cooked amazing Sri Lankan food, and the experience was unique. Our guide during the cooking was Mr. Hashan, who revealed to us the secrets of the local cuisine. For us, it was truly a special experience. The only slight negative is one of the hotel’s tuk-tuk drivers — I believe his name is Mr. Jambo. A typical driver who offers you cheap transportation and then takes you to tourist traps (herbal garden, river safari) where he gets commissions and everything is overpriced (you can arrange it much cheaper). Be careful with him — don’t go anywhere with him or it will cost you several times more. The transportation price is not everything. Otherwise, this hotel provided a truly exceptional experience! We will definitely recommend it to all our friends who travel to Sri Lanka.

Location was spectacular and had the chance of Kayaking in the Bolgoda lake which was an amazing experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our requirement. Food was delicious and their flexibility on preparing and delivering food on time as per our preference is also appreciative. Room was very spacious with all necessary furnitures and bathroom facilities. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for relaxing getaway and hope to go there again in the future as well.
