The room was nice; although not what I expected (like new age hotels). But the fact that it was right in the center of the old town (stone paved roads and classic restaurants), near a bridge on the river Aare, and the schloss; it offers great mix of old town vibes and near by you could find modern restaurants and supermarkets. Unfortunately the day I stayed here was raining; we wished to have visited this place during a sunny day. Right near the hotel is a city square (stone-paved) with a fountain in the middle; and a view (and stairs) of the schloss. The hotel itself is in a great condition, despite being an old but very beautiful building. The stairs, windows and the room itself will give you a good vibe.

The staff at hotel excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We would have preferred a front lake view of the lake but the side view was just fine and good view of the lake. Room was Ok. Bed not very comfortable, mattress a bit lumpy and duvet also lumpy. Beautiful view. A nice holiday.

    The room was lovely. Staying at the top of a castle was pretty magical, it was like being in afiarytale! Location is also great, it's right in the middle of town (and what a beautiful town!). Also really appreciated the lift from the train station.

    Beautiful and convenient location. Ideal for lake swimming; there were stone steps with a railing that helped you get into the water. The water was clean and very invigorating ( i.e. a little cold, but I like it this way). the lake was quickly becoming deep, allowing you to swim. We tried the Lido also, which is 2 minutes away by the free bus, but the lake there is very shallow. Everything else was perfect too, lovely staff, breakfast,modern design, very comfortable beds, etc.

    My room was lovely. bed was comfy and shower room very clean and spacious. Breakfast was fantastic with alot of choice and didnt feel hurried to finish and leave. Staff were lovely and friendly and even let me borrow a charger for my phone as had the wrong one with me. The hot drinks machine outside the rooms was great. a good selection of teas and coffee. I would recommend this hotel and will go back when next in the area!
