Staying at Peacock Guesthouse was an experience on its own! It is a piece of a medieval fairytale brought into the modern world. Not only you feel the history everywhere, but also the artistry of Bhaktapur craftsmen: the wood-carved windows overlooking the oldest square of the town and the temple, the wooden artifacts in the cute courtyard, the craftsman himself working next to the restaurant…. We marveled every minute of our stay there, we tasted a good amount of their great food and we spent literally hours observing this lively town from our windows… If you are in Bhaktapur and you like living in history and art, look no further.

The property is a few minutes walk from Durbar square. Although the hotel was doing building work they let us stay. We were not troubled by the work and the hotel owner was extremely friendly. The hotel is in a narrow street with not much traffic, just the occasional motorbike (unlike other streets nearby which are full of bikes), and therefore relatively quiet given its situation in the middle of the city. We would not hesitate to stay again.

fabuluous hotel, great place to stay after the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Short taxi ride to Thamel and other touristy locations. close to airport. Great staff. Food and drink service great, food fabulous. Really grateful for the luggage storage.

I have gone to this hotel repeatedly because of its proximity to THAMEL, the friendly staff, clean rooms, and good restaurant. The manager helps with any needs related to the traveling and the logistics of trekking.

Taleju Boutique Hotel exceeded all expectations! Januka, Pratikshya and the entire team went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. On my birthday, they generously upgraded our room and provided exceptional service. Excellent service by Mr. Prabin at front desk. Very helpful. Good English. Complimentary upgrade done on request to a bigger room. AC and hot water working well. Very clean. Quiet.  Good buffet breakfast for USD 5 - juice, fruits, cereal, sausages, hash brown, baked beans, pancake,  croissants, Danish etc. Tea coffee too. Eggs need to pay extra.
