Very nice and traditional ryokan renovated 3 years ago with a lot of luxurious taste. The hallway to eat diner and breakfast is amazing dated from edo period. Rooms are modern and spacious. The chef was working in refined restaurant in Tokyo before and he is cooking an amazing food, the best I had during my trip in nagano. Staff was nice and friendly. I really recommend.

The whole experience was fabulous. The setting, atmosphere and tranquility were out of this world. Our host was really very friendly and attentive as well as being chatty. All previous reviews of the inn were right. Really well worth experiencing. Fantastic Japanese dinner in the evening

This hotel is a gem. Like a beautiful oasis it is set in a fabulous location. The rooms were large but basic but get clean and well thought out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A free transfer was offered to and from Nagiso station which was a great help. The hotel is peaceful and feels so tranquil. The onsen baths were wonderful. But the best thing is the dinner and breakfast. What a wow!! Can’t wait to come back

The service was beyond excellent. I cannot commend the staff enough for their kindness and commitment to making sure we were fully taken care of. In particular, the gentleman who speaks English, he made sure to always check in with us / follow through with whatever we needed. I also loved the fact that there are private onsen rooms, AND private indoor / outdoor onsens available for booking (since both of us have tattoos).

Located 400 metres from Achi Shrine, Sekitaitei Ishida offers 4-star accommodation in Achi and features an open-air bath, a garden and a bar.

Among all the wonderful properties we visited during our driving tour of Japan, this one stood out as the highlight. Excellent value for money. Big comfortable room with nice view of garden. The onsen facilities at the more expensive sister hotel are beautiful- indoor and outdoor baths, and in the forest. The shuttle bus took us from tsumago, and then back to train station the next day.
