Tashi and Puntsok are so welcoming and helpful in orienting a first-timer in Ladakh like me - organising everything to make my trip go smoothly - permits, oxygen - and providing the perfect oasis of calm to overcome acclimatisation and jet lag. Tashi’s cooking is out of this world straight from her amazing garden. Delicious breakfast on the roof facing the Himalayas is the best breakfast I’ve ever had in years of travels. Oogpa House became my home in Ladakh where I would come back to each time before the next adventure. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Excellent homestay with a kind family who took good care of me when I was down with many altitude sickness symptoms. They cooked clean and fresh food for me every night according to what I could eat and charged a fair price. The house has a big lovely garden and it's very quiet. The owner is knowledgeable about the area and could quickly arrange for private car tours at a fair price. Located at 20 to 30 mins gentle uphill walk to town on a lighted street. Rooms are exactly as pictured - big and clean.
