We had an excellent three-day, two-night stay at Illala. Despite checking in late, Jane patiently waited for us, and her communication was excellent throughout our stay. Additionally, they recommended an excellent local tour company, Msherembe Safari and Travels, for a half-day trip costing only 13,000 KSH. We also had Mtalaki, a local taxi driver, who was kind enough to pick us up, drop us off, and wait while we bought groceries. I would definitely stay at Illala again on my next trip to Tsavo East National Park, which is just a 4-minute drive from Illala to the main gate.

The price is very good. The kitchen utensils in the room are very complete, including a small refrigerator that is also very useful. The location is very close to the station to other cities. Just go downstairs and cross the road.

Ideal location for a layover. The staff were very friendly as we checked in at midnight. Safe parking was available. The host were very warm and friendly. The host was professional and made sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend.
