The owner, Mr Masa is a very sweet person who was always happy to give suggestions and guide us. He helped us with our luggage and transportation as well, I can’t thank him enough. The house is close to attractions while being in a quiet area and also has all amenities you would need. I really wish I’d booked more time but will definitely be back

Bike hire and car hire are available at the holiday home and the area is popular for fishing and hiking. Skiing and cycling can be enjoyed nearby, while a ski equipment rental service, ski-to-door access and a ski pass sales point are also available on-site. They really made you feel as if you were a part of their family and took time out of their day to show me around the area and drive me to many different areas all while having really nice conversations.

The rooms were comfortable, and the very quiet location as well as the height allowed us to sleep comfortably with the windows open. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And we especially loved the evening meals which were delicious!

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. Exceptional - the location is stunning, the owners so warm and friendly, the dinner was truly an experience - the paired wines really elevated the experience. The decor has been carefully thought out. The onsen was really enjoyable. Probably one of the best meals/experiences I have had. The owners and staff deserve real credit for how much attention to detail, creativity, love and perfection they have put into this place. 10/10 experience, we hope to come back!!!

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan Over 6 years old is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. WiFi is accessible at public areas for free, while the private-use hot spring bath is available at a surcharge. I came here for my birthday. Unfortunately we didn't get there until late around 8pm, due to trains and train problems: they leave Nagoya every 2 hours and ours was delayed (so give yourself time to get there at a reasonable time) {I phoned them to let them know we would be late},you will also need to take a local train from Takayama. It was raining and we were cold and tired. Since we were late I wasn't sure if we would get supper even though I had paid for it. But thankfully we did and the food was excellent! Very fancy! We ate in a private dinning room looking out on to a garden. Our room was excellent! It was quite big for Japan. There was tatami mats, interesting monkey scroll in the alcove, interesting classy furnishings even the bathroom sink was beautiful. The hot springs/ baths were very good , I enjoyed the outdoor ones which had beautiful gardens. I loved wandering the halls of this ryokan lots of traditional architecture and art work (a beautiful folding screen). You really can feel the history of this hotel.

Kappa Bridge is 14 km from ひらゆの森別邸湯う香三蔵庵, while Mt.Norikura Ski Resort is 30 km away. Matsumoto Airport is 52 km from the property. Location, private onsen in the suite, kaiseki dinner is elegant and delicious, so is the delicious breakfast, both served in our room, it’s a great experience. The staffs are very warm and helpful. It gave free entrance ticket to the big public onsen which is a great extra benefit.
