Set in tranquil surroundings with large landscaped grounds and a picturesque garden terrace with mountain views, Tongariro Crossing Lodge offers uniquely spacious rooms with historic character. A garden is featured. Staff were great, went over and above our expectations. Secured us a shuttle for the Tongariro crossing, took into account dietary restrictions and prepared us breakfast and lunch for our early morning 5:30am departure. Location great for the crossing. And bed sheets were super warm and toasty.

The holiday home includes a lounge area with chromecast TV and a fireplace. The kitchen comes with a dishwasher and dining area. There is also a balcony overlooking the surrounding mountains. Guests are provided with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Well maintained, clean and has all you need for your stay. The electric fireplace was awesome. Would definitely recommend this property.

The air-conditioned accommodation is 16 km from Mount Ruapehu, and guests can benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is set 16 km from Taranaki Falls. Fantastic location near to the four squares, and the equipment rental shop (Ski Biz I believe). The apartment was so cosy and well ventilated with large windows! The dry pantry was well equipped with herbs and condiments.

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. A daily, shuttle service is available hourly from 6:00 until 9:00 to the Tongariro Crossing & National park. Free parking is available. It was very conveniently located for a day doing the Tongariro hike.

The Ruapehu Park Hotel is at the foot of a large ski field and volcano at Mt Ruapehu. It is surrounded by two other famous mountains Ngauruhoe and Tongariro.

The natural setting around the Lodge is ideal for mountain biking, rafting, hiking, rock climbing, fishing or relaxing in thermal springs. Great place, comfortable, very friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast which was worth the extra.

Ski storage space is available on site and skiing can be enjoyed within close proximity of the lodge. Our room was very clean and spacious. Mary was very accommodating. Just the perfect place for our skiing and hiking trip.

Set in National Park, Mountain Heights Lodge offers six self-contained motel units and four ensuite B&B rooms, BnB rooms welcomes children over the age of 14 and above. Private parking is free.

The nearest airport is Taupo Airport, 78 km from Mountain Heights Lodge. The hostess was accommodating and cheerful. The room was clean (a bit worn), and functional. It is located about 15 minutes from the National Park. When our track was rained out they were able to accommodate us again on short notice!
