I had an excellent stay in Villa Branca. The staff and manager were very helpful in organising things for me, making sure I enjoyed my stay and catering to my every need. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home right away. I had forgotten to put in my booking that we had our 1 year old daughter with us and the staff were not fazed at all. We arrived very late but they had thought ahead to ask the driver who collected us from Mombasa to take our order for dinner so there was food for us when we arrived even though the kitchen had closed. The hotel is really beautiful and has an amazing view of the sea. The way the sunbeds and pool is laid out it feels like you are on the beach without actually being on the beach. If you wish to get in the sea it is just down some steps. The staff helped us with all encounters with the hawkers on the beach. It is definitely the most beautiful of the resorts in the area that we saw online and in real life when we explored the area. It looks exactly like the pictures which I have found is not always the case with hotels on booking.com. The food was really good and was much better than what we had been eating on safari and in Nairobi. The highlights were the prawns and tuna. We would have enjoyed a little more variety and African influenced food on the menu but there were daily specials which hit the spot. The staff did seem a little hurt when we had dinner out one night (there's a really good Korean restaurant just at the end of the driveway to the hotel). As the hotel is so small it is understandable that they would want you to eat/spend money with them rather than elsewhere.
