Surrounded by 860 private acres of tropical rainforest and featuring an on-site lake, a swimming pool, a sun terrace and games room, Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails is located within the Arenal... The room was clean and spacious. It has balcony to see the volcano. The lodge has hiking trails. I enjoyed two day solo walk. Well maintained and easy to walk, except river trail. I met only few people on the trail and i was able to enjoy the solitude. I appreciate Greivin at reception helping me to arrange transportation to Mistico to La Fortuna town.

The hotel was a "horizontal" complex in that all rooms were at ground level with just two rooms per building and the buildings are scattered throughout the property. As the rooms were on ground floor the view was limited, I guess because of privacy concerns by just stepping out the the door the the Arenal volcano is right in front of you, an amazing view! The breakfast was a well stocked buffet and the a la carte restaurant was also very good. For a less formal atmosphere we tried the excellent Sushi bar at the pool that is open til 10pm. (There is also a pizza place but we didn't try them). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Tours are available at the hotel and we took one to the volcano and another to jungle tour with suspension bridges. Both were good but we preferred the jungle tour. The thermal water hot pool was a great place to relax after hiking and sightseeing. If you have a car and feel a little adventurous the "Rio Celeste" in the Tenorio Volcano National Park is worth the trip. Its about 90mins from the hotel but be aware that the walking trail in the park is about 5 to 6 Km to take in all the viewing points and places can be uneven. To get to the waterfall there are perhaps 200 steps down (and then back up again!)

This tropical hotel is located next to Costa Rica's Arenal Volcano, 6 km from La Fortuna. It offers a natural hot spring, outdoor adventure activities, a luxurious spa and scenic volcano views. Landscaping was excellent, pools are nicely done and breakfast was very good.

It was very cosy and a nice retreat. You wake up in a park with hummingbirds in front of your door and a great view of the volcano. Then you can hike the Park trails (ca.3h) and experience a hidden jungle, waterfall with a lot of fauna. Also there is a cool viewpoint where you can get a photo of the volcano and the jungle.

This hotel was absolutely gorgeous and amazing. The grounds are spectacular and the rooms are incredibly beautiful. The staff are super nice and accomodating. The pool area is like a resort. And the breakfast was pretty yummy. We especially enjoyed the live music at breakfast, that was such a treat. I cannot wait to go back

There is just one apartment, so it's very private, and had plenty of room for 3 people. Quiet location, but close enough to town to walk. The entire space was super-clean, and had great air conditioning, wifi, coffee, sugar, salt, and everything we needed for cooking. Welcome book was very helpful and included personal recommendations for local sights, restaurants, and shopping nearby. There's safe parking right outside. Andrés was exceptionally kind and responsive!

Finca Amistad Cacao Lodge offers 60 hectares of Cocoa farm and guests can enjoy tours, chocolate and bird watching. The accommodation features a seating area. Authentic, homely feel. Cacao tour included with the booking was a nice touch. We have enjoyed home cooked meals and hot chocolate! The views from the lodge into the rain forest were fantastic. We have spent afternoons relaxing in the hammock or sipping cocktails in the jacuzzi overlooking the forest.

Offering an outdoor pool and spa centre, Finca Luna Nueva Lodge is set in Fortuna in the Alajuela Region, 26 km from Monteverde. This is the best resort i have stayed for the past few years and i travel extensively. Staffs are very kind and sincere, not overwelming for an introvert. My dome is very beautifully designed, spotless inside and out. Not to mention their holistic approach on the whole syntropic farm, three meals at the restaurant are farm to table. I saw sloths! toucans! on so many hikes by myself and with guides. All informative hikes.

Located 250 metres from La Fortuna Park, La Fortuna Suites Lodge features free WiFi access and Each room is private and is equipped with a TV . Classy place with good location near the central park.
