The breakfast was very good with plenty of food and fruits. The location is perfect, in a calm neighborhood, close to the city center. We had a great time at Didu's Homestay. Unfortunately far too short, but we will definitely be back. We were given a very warm welcome and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We travelled to Ijen on the very first evening. The tour was organised by the host and went smoothly. We had a really great guide who gave us lots of background information during the trip. Ijen really was an experience! I would say that you need to be reasonably fit, especially if you want to climb into the crater to look at the blue fire. We would also definitely recommend sturdy shoes and warm/rainproof clothing! The rooms and communal areas are beautifully and lovingly furnished. All in all, a great trip!

Inspired by the styles of the colonial era, Hotel Tugu Malang is located in East Java. Made me feel so welcome for the 2 nights I stayed. As a solo traveler looking for some peace, treats and hospitality, it is just what I needed.
