The place had just opened (early May) and was not crowded. Breakfasts on the patio overlooking the sea were prepared to order and very good. We swam and paddle boarded from the small dock. The staff were super helpful. Dinners (not included) were large and delicious. The hotel arranged a private boat tour around Ischia that left and returned to the hotel. We stopped for snorkeling and lunch at our pace - this was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Southern Italy.

Paradise can be as hard to define as it is to find. Yet La Gondola came as close as you can get to perfection. Stunning location where a kind of old school dreaminess exists. Devoid of flash and pretence, the hotel offers the traveller a charm and peace that belongs to an age not found in today's gaudy, noisy world. Indeed, a sign by the thermal heated pool reads "No shouting"! The staff were laid back but attentive, the food 9/10, cleanliness 10/10. Many guests (mostly Italian & German) were there as repeat visitors. Once you go there you will definitely want to return.

Breakfast is served daily at the property. A really nice hotel, but the staff were the best part. Super friendly and helpful. Marco was particularly exceptional and assisted us each day with various arrangements and advice.

You can enjoy a drink or a complete meal on the restaurant’s veranda, while admiring the views of the Gulf of Naples. On the property’s terrace, total relax is guaranteed thanks to comfortable sun loungers. Everything is perfect here, extremely tasteful decor, beautiful rooms, everything is clean, very well maintained with a lot of love for details. The view is gorgeous, the balcony where you have breakfast and dinner is the perfect place to start or end your day. It’s so romantic. The rooftop transforms into a beautiful bar at night. The pool area is beautiful as well with views to the sea and the mountain- it’s so quiet you can just listen to the birds. There is pool service with snacks and cocktails. The bruschetta pomodoro is so good it’s almost addictive. The rooms are big, clean and tasteful. The A/C is quiet which is a big plus. The family and staff who run this place is authentically nice and attentive. We felt very welcome by them and the warm atmosphere they created. Extremely professional but down to earth. I loved that they have vegetables from their own garden. You can taste the freshness. I was extremely positive surprised by how greatly the accommodated my vegan diet. I even got my own homemade pastry in the morning! The food in general was great. Also very positive: I work in the music industry and normally music in public places is stressful to me. The music choice here is absolutely wonderful. It’s always right for the occasion and never too much. If you don’t mind not being close to the beach and be up a little hill, I would absolutely recommend staying here. You will be happy here :)

The covered pool, sauna and gym are free for all guests. There is also a range of massages and beauty treatments available. The entire team at Botania went truly above and beyond during our stay. We felt SO welcomed, cherished and cared for. The room was beautiful, comfortable and we were given a complimentary upgrade. The grounds, restaurants and pools were spectacular. Especially the staff, they were truly so engaging, authentic and incredibly friendly. We LOVED the Yoga classes in the morning with Luisa, she adapted the class to our needs and truly helped make the stay even that much for relaxing and wonderful.
