Even though we arrived later than the time decided , we were still greeted with a hot cup of tea and snacks . The place has all the fixtures of a western 5 star resort . The outdoor toilet was by itself a charming experience of the nature . I would highly recommend this place if you want to have a great stay, feel royal , want to experience first hand hospitality of Srilankans and excellent warm breakfast.

We have been to a number of very good family run b&bs throughout Ceylon. All of them good. But this one deserves a 10 because the owners really put a lot of effort in making clients happy. The dinner and breakfast was excellent and the safari tour organized by them also. The driver was very experienced and went through roads outside the beaten path to find animals which in this season are hiding and difficult to find. Great. The room was very clean, aircon worked well, mosquito nets etc. Just one tip: europeans like their breakfast with coffee or tea served together with food. After only for lunch and dinner.

The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and have great beds. They offer game drives with a great guide who is very knowledgeable. Be careful because many of the “guides” are simply drivers and know little about the animals and birds. The dinners at Mansala were just amazing. The hostess is an amazing chef and her meals will impress you. The breakfasts are good, but the star is the evening meal. The owners are kind, gracious, helpful and want to leave you impressed.

The family is so kind and careing, the food is amazing and the place is just beautiful with it's quite location in nature, right next to a calm river, very quite and safe neighbourhood and in walking distance to Udawalawe City (though we didn't really feel like leaving this place as there is everything you need there :) The Safari with Pasindu was also a Highlight (I did one before but this one was the best as his knowledge and thoughtfulnes with planning the tour as well a the respect for the animals is exceptional!)

Needs a few more chairs round the pool as only two. Opposite the lake which was nice for a walk. About a 10 min walk to the main street and restaurants.

There is so much love, care and attention. A big thanks to the fantastic staff!!

Thank you to Aijith and Pamoda, who were so welcoming for our stay, and really looked after my brother and I. The accommodation is indeed in the jungle and could see monkeys and wild life. We had delicious welcome lemonade and cake and the breakfast is huge!! Aijith and Pamoda organise a morning safari which was wonderful, we saw so many elephants. And they packed us a breakfast. The accommodation is exceptional value for money, comfortable bed, new AC, hot water, fridge, kettle and even a hairdryer! I really like the aesthetic of the bedrooms too. And a lovely little porch to sit and relax. Its nears some resturants too and short walk to udawalawe junction. Thanks again! I would highly recommend.

Staff is also very friendly.

Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. City Elephant is ideally situated for getting to the park, right on the main drag through town. The owners are super friendly. My room was large with a good bed and good AC. The restaurant out by the street looks unassuming, but DO eat there...these guys cook beautifully. I had a rice/curry lunch that was just lovely.
