Zarela was super helpful during our stay. We were able to organize laundry through her, we ate at the restaurant twice, and the beds were super comfy. Water was hot, had good outdoor space, and was a great way to relax for a day after our trek.

There was a problem on arrival - my room wasn't available but they took me in a taxi to their other hostel. This was further from the centre but at least I had a room. Big bed, secure, reasonable wi-fi, balcony, view of the mountains. Nice breakfast but it's served from 8-9am so it's too late if you are going on a tour. Only Spanish is spoken so a little difficult to communicate!

The staff is very friendly! The rooms have enough space and the showers work great. I especially liked the breakfast, where you sit with a view and get a new bonus treat every day. You get to meet other travelers and get tips from the hosts on activities

Beautyfully decorated hotel in a quit street in Huaraz. The city center is a 20 minute walk. The breakfastroom offers a stunning view at the mountains. The room was clean, spacious and comfortabele. The hot shower and bath were a treat after a long hike. In the evening we dronk local beers near the fireplace.

The biggest score is definitely its incredible climbing wall Room was spacious, comfy beds (with curtains), warm showers, good shared kitchen and very delicious breakfast. Everything was clean, nothing felt gritty and dirty like some hostels. Staff were friendly

Good location, not far from the town center. The best place I have stayed during my one month trip. Cozy, clean impeccably, daily cleaning. Great breakfast. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. The bus from Lima was late and I arrived late in the evening, they waited until 23.00 for me to check in. The owners also run the best travel agency in the town and arranged few great ascents for me. Highly recommend for relax and for mountaineers, who intend to hike and climb the mountains nearby.

Akilpo Home really felt like home. The 3 brothers who run the hotel do everything to make you feel at peace. Every time of the day they are ready to help you with anything you need, from recommendations where to eat, to the perfect hiking itinerary. The rooms in the hotel are spacious, the beds are one of the best we had in Peru, and the rooms are cleaned every day (if you want). Breakfast is delicious and with some variety every day. Conclusion: when in Huaraz, stay at Akilpo. You won’t regret it!

Everything was clean and new, nothing felt grotty and dirty like some hostels. Room was spacious and comfortable and outside space was very relaxing. Staff were friendly and accommodated our vegan diet for breakfast.
