We had a wonderful stay at The Houghton Hotel during our trip to South Africa. The hotel is incredibly modern and stylish, with very spacious rooms. The bed was exceptionally comfortable—exactly what we needed after a long flight. One of the highlights was the breakfast, very tasty and lots of options. The staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay, and we were especially grateful that they accommodated a very early check-in so we could rest right away. Although we didn’t get a chance to use the hotel’s amenities, we did take a look around and everything—from the pool area to the wellness facilities—looked top-notch and beautifully maintained. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, upscale base in Johannesburg.

The centre of Pretoria is a 15-minute drive away. The property is nice and well managed. What really stands out is the friendliness of the staff at reception, they were amazing helping me after my bag got lost in the airport, well beyond normal duties

The guest house also provides an infinity pool and spa facilities for guests to relax in. Guests can also relax in the garden. Everything was great. What you see on the pictures is definitely what you get. I love how the place smells as well overall.

They gave us the biggest room near the the reception and the restaurant because my husband is disabled without charging us any extra fees.. they were or are very generous. All out for every extras in the whole hotel. Amazing what they do for one to feel comfortable!!!

Continental and Full English/Irish breakfast options are available at the lodge. This venue is truly exquisite and the grounds are in immaculate condition. It also doubles as a wedding venue. There is even a beautiful pond with swans ! We booked several rooms for our family many months ago and with there being so many of us, dates changed and were added and some changed again. Through this all the team were so gracious and responded to all my requests and questions immediately. Not once being irritated with my changes but always being so understanding and accomodating our every need. The rooms are beautiful with attention to even the smallest little detail. We were so impressed ! My husband keeps telling everyone just how impressed he is :) We also had breakfast served in our room and it was absolutley fantastic. We ordered on both mornings that we were there. Kudos to everyone here at Gracias de Dios - you have created a beautiful gem.
