Super-friendly host, who speaks very good English. The place gives you an authentic Hutong experience, the courtyard in the middle is unique, same for furniture and layout. Different to many hotel chain stays, this creates memories to last. Metro from Beijing South Railway station is 4 stops and 7min walk only. And in case you wonder, the area is, as all Beijing, totally safe.

Holiday Inn Express is a 20-minute walk from Tao Ran Ting Station Line 4. It offers modern accommodation with free parking and free Wi-Fi in all areas.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They booked online tickets for the Great Wall and the Forbidden City and provided transportation instructions. They also exchanged my Yen notes to smaller ones, which is helpful since most stores do not provide for a lot of cash anymore. They all spoke basic English. One of them spoke English very well. Rooms were clean, quiet and spacious. Subway station (Tianquiao) that connects you easily to the major attractions is two minutes away. Restaurants etc and a famous temple are in walking distance. I think the hotel provides good value for money if you compare it to the major hotel chains in Beijing.

Nice room/view, shout out to the staff even if they struggled a bit to find our booking which was a bit worrying at first (it seems booking.com bookings are not in the same system so precise where you booked - they also didn’t answer on booking’s message for the same reason I think). Overall great stay!
