Wonderful small hotel in old classic italian style. Ladies in reception and breakfast room were very nice, warm and helpful. The rooms very comfortable, quite big, good equipped and clean.

Great location, few minutes drive from Poppi Castle. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent, very busy with locals so maybe book the restaurant. Plenty of parking on site

- friendly owners. -Wonderful breakfast on a terrace with mountain views (mostly sweets with different home cakes and pies every day and the best croissants). I prefer a savory breakfast and was fine too with toast, cheese, eggs. Great coffee. - location: quiet, silent, sky full of stars like we ’ve had never seen them before - little city Santa Sofia is close (20 min by car), there you have restaurants and small supermarkets - area perfect for nature lovers. We love to hike and Il Palazzo didn’t disappoint. The owners can provide you with good information. Right at the hotel starts the 4 km trail ‘sentiero naturale’. You can also do at least 2 long hikes starting at the hotel (1 > Hike around lake Ridracoli; 2 > hike up to San Paolo in Alpe). For a longer stay there are plenty of starting points within a 30 to 45 minutes drives. The car rides through nature are lovely as well. The national park ‘Foreste Casentinesi’ has a good app and a helpful website with tons of info concerning the many hikes in this amazing area. We spent a hot summer week at ‘Il Palazzo’. We hiked every day, the forest gives you lots of shadow which makes it feasible - after a long day of hiking it’s lovely to have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Really good food and not too expensive. If you want to eat somewhere else there are at least two restaurants within a 5 minute drive (we tried La vera Romagna and loved it!) - even though it was very hot, the temperature in the room was good to sleep in. The kindness and helpfulness of the lady owner exceeded all my expectations. She willingly changed rooms for me when the opportunity arose, because I wanted to try a room with a balcony. She sent an assistant car and helped me with translation when my car broke down in a distant city. Whatever I asked, I got an answer from her, she provided a solution. The accommodation is breathtaking, wery clean, comfortable and quiet. The lady owner and his colleague are very kind, the landscape and the city are beautiful, and the nearby restaurants are excellent. It was amazing, thank you so much!

Wonderful staff! Florentino went way beyond - prior to our stay she answered many questions about the bus from Bibbiena to Della Verna and even purchased bus tickets for us! The hotel was lovely, lots of character, comfy beds and very clean. Breakfast had lots of variety....cheese, meat, cereal, yogurt, breads, sweet breads, fruit, espresso. Highly recommended!

Everything ! The owner and his family were exceptionally welcoming. The room had a breath-taking view over the mountains. The quietness, the beauty of the region, the hotel restaurant with delicious food ... everything was simple but perfect. There are also many trails nearby for hill-walkers
