Warm welcome from the kind host. Nice and quiet with safe parking for my motorcycle. Very close to the fort. Great value for money. 15/20mins walk to centre of town...which is beautiful

Just 5 km from the fortified town of Elvas, the recently refurbished Varchotel features typical Alentejo architecture. It offers bright rooms with modern décor and satellite flat-screen TVs.

Beatriz made sure to provide for us whenever needed. The location is just a 5-minute drive away from the city center and is pretty calm. Campo Maior is hot, and the lovely outdoor swimming pool provides refreshing relaxation. The freshly baked bread by breakfast was a great highlight, along with the orange juice and the hot coffee. The A/C in the room allowed the proper temperature, and the bathroom had plenty of space and a great shower. If you are an animal lover, don´t forget to bring your dog with you, especially if he can mingle with the several cats that color the surroundings for the swimming pool. The wifi both inside the room, and outdoors next to the swimming pool, worked fine. In summary, this is definitely the place to stay for a quick getaway or even a longer stay if you are thinking of visiting Campo Maior, Badajoz, or even Elvas. As a last note, Campo Maior has plenty to do, so don't waste the opportunity to meet their museums, castle, restaurants, and lovely people.

Hotel is very new and nicely decorated, rooms and all common areas are vey specious, breakfast very nice. I wish we had time to use the pool and relax in tea room. Parking in town was easy and we were offered a garage space in the hotel.
