We absolutely loved our stay!! The place is located in a great area and the apartment literally has everything you need. The beds are super comfortable, the wash machine was fantastic and everything was spotless clean. I would definitely recommend this place to any couple or family wanting to explore Takayama.

The river surrounds the house, and you can see it and hear it from most windows (specially the room) It's really peaceful, I slept like a baby here. The futons were very comfortable and the place spacious. It's a little away from the center, but because of that really peaceful and at one end of the philosophers path, so: good place to rest and do some wander through the temples and green areas.

Staying in this gem of a place was the highlight of our japan trip..being surrounded by t art decor was surreal..every corner of this MUSEUM--HOME kept us in admiration..Also it was spotlessly CLEAN and ,this home had everything that you needed..a fully equipped kitchen,a home theatre and even an open to sky extra bath..the 2 bedrooms are very tastefully decorated in Japanese style.. Inspite of the language barrier,THE OWNER went over and beyond to communicate and help us with all our queries...he was a very kind,pleasant and caring man....at the time of our checkout,we asked him to order for 2 taxis to drop us off to the train station..to our surprise,he dropped us off in his personal car and refused to charge us for it...this act really touched us. The LOCATION is superb,it's on t street parallel to historic street..Sanmachi street..There are a lot of restaurants close by too. I rate this home a 10/10..and will highly recommend it for your stay in TAKAYAMA

Everything. Seriously, everything! The house is absolutely beautiful. From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. And it was spotless — perfectly clean. We loved every detail. The rooms are spacious and bright. Every little thing in the kitchen and bathroom has been thoughtfully considered. The location is amazing — just a short walk from the old town. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming. I’ll definitely stay here again the next time I visit Takayama. Honestly, I’d come back to Takayama just to stay here again!

it's a newly renovated town house, very nicely decorated. all facilities worked well, esp. the floor heating and sauna were so much needed after a long walk in the snow. around the house there are CVS, beef shop and other groceries. worth a walk around

The owner was super responsive. I have absolutely zero complaints about the accommodation. Spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The location was perfect for walks into the old town, Miyagawa morning market, Takayama Jinya etc. The owner also operates a coin laundry just next door. With state of the art washing machines, it was super convenient.
