The host, Udara is awesome. He took us to a beautiful local temple and the scene behind the temple is beautiful and peaceful.... good place for meditation. He organised the safari trip for us. We had a home made packed breakfast on the safari , really good. We also ordered lunch cooked by Udara's mother.....yummy sri lankan food. Only regret, we only had 1 day at Yala.

This is the most fantastic place built around the trees and natural habitat on the outskirts of Yala national park. Everything was provided, the food was incredible and we were given a trip to the fishing village on the beach for sunset in their buggy with Suraj and Tilina. It was like a mini safari. We saw crocodiles, deer, tortoises wild boar and on the beach the boys showed us where the elephants had been earlier in the day, footprints still showing in the sand. Suraj and Tilina were both young but so knowledgeable and friendly. They provided us breakfast at 4am for our Yala safari and we can't thank them, and the manager enough for making us so welcome. Will definitely stay again if we return to Sri Lanka.

We were warmly welcomed from the very start by the incredible team. They did everything they could to give us a memorable stay, from the delicious food (best we had in Sri Lanka and very generous portions), the impeccable service, informative safari and excellent facilities and special touches (star gazing from the impressive viewing platform). Communication was excellent and we really felt so well looked after and had such a special time at Makini Bush Camp. We were so sad to leave and would definitely come back and would recommend to anymore!

Paradise in Yala, everything was outstanding, one of the best places we stayed in the last years all over the world. We were overwhelmed by the attention and friendliness of the staff, the calm beauty of the place, wonderfull pool, spacious and clean room, exceptional food, great safari organisation with experienced drivers for a high chance of leopard sighting. It’s a very well maintained villa. It’s surrounded by the greenery. The view from the pool is just fantastic where you find many animals roaming around you will feel right in the middle of a small forest. The hosts were very friendly. The food was delicious.
