The house is in a great location, close to W6 Balcony Walk and other hiking routes. The house is really authentic and cozy, the kitchen is well equipped. It was cold in January, but we could heat up the rooms with the ac. Ahmed and his helper are great hosts, they were very helpful with all their advices. I highly recommend Canyon Rest House.

When we arrived at the property the owner was already waiting for us with the keys. He was very welcoming and helped us with our luggage. Asked us how much water needs to be filled in the swimming pool so that the kids are comfortable. The property was so green, mango trees were filled with ripe mangoes, banana trees, date trees and to add it up it was raining which made it more magical. The property was clean, impeccable and the fridge had mangoes and dates for us. Even the kitchen is filled with utensils so for a family you are not far away from your home

Despite our late arrival at midnight, he was quick to respond to our messages and calls, ensuring we had no trouble finding our way. What truly stood out was his dedication—he personally came to the hotel to hand over the keys, making us feel welcomed and at ease right from the start. The property itself had excellent amenities, with the swimming pool being a highlight of our stay. Its location was also very convenient, as it was close to the city, with restaurants and grocery stores easily accessible—just a 2-minute drive away.

Very beautifull, spaceous and private place to stay, high in the mountains with awesome views. Friendly and kind host who you can call whenever you want even when you get lost by finding the place, he will assist you by phone very well to make sure you get there. My opinion, the safest way to get there is by 4x4. Not far from the balcony walk.

Homeed and his brother were excellent hosts and made our experience in Oman the best possible, their hospitality and knowledge of the area to guide us was outstanding and I recommend this experience for anyone looking to visit Jabel Shams, the canyon walk and the wadi’s.

The place is really great! We've enjoyed every moment of our stay! Everything was just perfect: the location, hospitality of the host, very tasty food. We've ordered a dinner and liked it very much: it was a very good traditional food! The place is also very quiet and the beds are comfortable. . We've also did a hiking to Wadi Damm which is very close to the place. It was just incredible! The owner has contacts of the local guide. We would like to visit this great place again!

This was an unexpected gem, in an unlikely location. You cannot beat it for location, at the start of the Balcony Walk in Jebel Shams. Mohammed the owner organised for his neighbour Ali (and his wife) to cook dinner and breakfast for us. The food was delicious! The house itself is very comfortable and well kitted out, even if you want to self-cater. Thank you for a lovely stay.
