We had the best stay at El Trapiche! It’s a wonderful family run establishment with lots of personal touches from the welcome smoothie to including us in local events in the village. Delicious dinner available for $3pp and breakfast was also substantial! You can tell there is real passion for Ecuador and the local town! Perfect stay before starting the Quilotoa loop.

The room was very clean with a nice view and had an amazing full shower with hot water and massage settings! Very comfortable bed, too. The staff were very very nice - unfortunately I got bitten by one of the dogs from the village and the staff drove my to see a local doctor and also offered to drive my to Quilotoa for a fee as I could not finish rest of my hike.

The staff was great - very friendly and provided helpful information. The shower had hot water, and the wood stove heated the room nicely. Dinner and breakfast were both solid with plentiful tasty food. It’s not a luxury hotel, but extremely charming and well-maintained. Excellent value for money. It is also well-situated between the town and crater access and the bus stop right outside of town.

This was a perfect accomodation before starting the Quilotoa loop. The check-in was nice and smooth. There was also a perfect option for dinner and after dinner we went with the 5 guests (of that night) and the whole guestfamily to a fiesta in the village of Sigchos which was a nice experience. Furthermore the hosts were very accommodating and was the newly build lodge just stunning!

Luxurious for a hostal!

very spacious, great view to the canyons and very quiet though still close to everything in the village. lots of seating options with good wifi. Exceptional food for very little money and it seems like it’s a small but healthy family business. we loved the Turkish sauna!

Beautiful view on the valley! Victor was sweet, welcoming and gave the stay a personal touch. He really knows the regions and all existing hikes around the village. Highly recommend!

Everything great, price includes two meals: dinner and breakfast, there is a good hot water shower. Room was cold, but because of high altitude it's cold in whole village and one electric heater can't create a comfort like in the city flat. Anyway there were many bed blankets so we didn't got cold while sleeping.
