The apartment was exactly as in the pictures. We were provided with some supplements as well, bottle of juice, bananas and cookies. Everything was working perfectly. Will definitely go back for my next stay.

The property overall exceeded our expectations and it is well situated in the middle of the island (it is an excellent option if you want to escape the extreme heat along the coast and enjoy living in the mountain greeneries). The appartment has a modern finish, spacious, well-maintained and is well-equipped. The host was very responsive and was always reachable if ever there was anything. We had a wifi issue which the owner resolved quickly.

The facilities, the beautiful location, the cleanliness, and the host attitude were excellent. Darel helped us with a boat trip booking and offered us advice and recommendations. The house is a short walk from St. Francoise and its beach and is also close to the starting point to a walk to Anse Bouteille and Trou d'Argent that you can visit multiple times. The kitchen is well equipped and you can prepare a breakfast and eat on the terrace, while enjoying unparalleled views.

The view was absolutely fantastic and a joy to wake up to every morning. The house was in a lovely secluded position on the hillside and so well equipped from a fridge freezer, great coffee machine, excellent Wifi and so much more. The owner was so responsive by text and the lovely Melissa was on hand if I needed anything. She also cooked me the best meal I had on the island. There was a great little shop down the road and excellent local restaurant with a bus stop at the end of the track to get into town or to the beach or It was a 15 minute if you fancied the walk to Mourouk beach. I was a solo female traveller and felt very safe. I cannot wait to go back and can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you are wanting to experience a beautiful authentic island off the beaten track. This accommodation offers it all. A Warm Welcome and Culinary Bliss at La Belle du Sud, Rodrigues Island Our stay at La Belle du Sud was nothing short of extraordinary. From the warm hospitality to the delicious, home-cooked meals, everything about our 10-day visit exceeded our expectations. James and Dalilette, the hosts, were incredibly welcoming and generous. Dalilette, an active and energetic lady, often went fishing herself and occasionally brought in fresh octopus, which became the highlight of our evening meals. Every night, we were treated to a different, freshly prepared dish, always enough to feed four—no wonder we gained a good five kilos by the end of our stay! Breakfasts were equally delightful, with an ample spread that included fresh juices and a variety of items to start the day on the right note. The property itself felt like a small, serene farm, with cattle, pigs (slaughtered once a year), hens, and even dogs. The dogs, just like the people of Rodrigues, were remarkably calm and didn’t bark—a reflection of the island’s tranquillity. The spacious accommodation offered two bedrooms and two bathrooms, providing more than enough room for us, making it fantastic value for money. In terms of location, La Belle du Sud is close to one of Rodrigues’ prime surfing lagoons, making it a perfect spot for water sports enthusiasts. Despite being in the southeast, the island's small size means everything is just 20 to 30 minutes away by car, so getting around was never an issue. As a thank-you for their incredible hospitality, we invited James, Dalilette, and their family to a small celebration on our last evening. We brought wine, beer, sweets, and chips for everyone, especially the grandchildren, who had a fantastic time playing both indoors and outdoors in the spacious property. It was a joyous way to express our gratitude and celebrate the wonderful time we had together. Rodrigues itself is a slice of paradise—peaceful, unspoiled, and full of friendly, welcoming people.
