While not actually in Guimaraes we used Uber (Bolt also available) to get to the town for just 5 Euros each way, which gave us a welcome break from driving. Although on quite a busy road, inside the apartment was peaceful and quiet. The host was easy to communicate with and excellent in answering any questions we had. All in all this was a very good place to stay.

We arrived as guests and left as friends! Julia and Antonio could not have been kinder hosts. The apartment was immaculate, pristine clean, very comfortable and modern. The shower was super hot and powerful. Everything felt brand new. There was a lovely pool, garden, bbq facilities and washing machine. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed seeing Braga and the local sites. We were on motorcycles and the ride to and from Carvalho was delightful.

Each house has its own private swimming pool, which is great. Although there are three houses next to each other, one of the neighbours had a speaker playing music all day, which was a bit annoying. The house itself and the host were perfect. The rooms are a bit small, but that didn’t bother us. One thing to note: the photos on the booking page are all mixed together, so we couldn’t tell which ones belonged to our specific house. Because of that, we ended up buying the wrong coffee for the wrong coffee machine.

The private outside eating area & barbeque were just perfect (we had the 2 bed bungalow). The swimming pool was a great size with beautiful gardens around it - fabulous to have a swim after a day out walking in the area. The surrounding area is beautiful - we found some small roads to walk down to the lake without having to risk walking on the main road - google maps was very useful here as maps of the area aren't very clear. Also recommend picking up a walking route/attractions map from the Tourist info office. Great welcome from Carla who was always contactable if we had a query with anything. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant about 10mins walk up the road from the house.

The bed was very comfortable, and the house comes fully equipped with everything you need: washing/drying machine, dishwasher, vacuum, soaps, toilet paper, etc. The host was super friendly and easy to reach. Highly recommended!
